Introduction

Electrical Maintenance Division is handling various essential services and related projects of IITB. 

  • HT and LT Electrical distribution and substations
  • Electrical works in Academic/Hostels/Residential area
  • Water pumping stations maintenance of the entire campus
  • HVAC systems in the campus
  • Audio visual equipment management for institute facilities.
  • Instrumentation and ELV maintenance (CCTV, Biometric etc.)
  • Maintenance of Firefighting and Fire alarm systems
  • Solar PV and Hot water systems
  • Facilities management of Convocation hall, PC Saxena auditorium, Lecture hall complex, VMCC, EMBA and other institute class rooms, academic facilities.
  • Power supply management and Utilities planning such as HVAC, Substation design and installation and EHV etc.

Functions

  • To develop & maintain the Power Distribution System, Electrical Installations, HVAC,Audio Visual Systems, Fire fighting systems, solar water heating & solar power Systems.
  • Taking the meter reading of all the Residential accommodations & Academic buildings across the IIT Bombay campus & generating the bill on a monthly basis.
  • Sending the segregated metering information to the different divisions at IIT Bombay.
  • Complaint registration by the occupants of the existing buildings at IIT Bombay and the rectification of the same.
  • Taking the request for Procuring A/C from different division of IIT Bombay and issuing of the same.
  • Maintenance of the A/C's already fitted at different locations on a regular basis.
