About Us

Office of the Dean (Infrastructure Planning and Support)

The office of Dean of Infrastructure Planning and Support (Dean - IPS) at IIT Bombay is entrusted with the comprehensive responsibility of developing new civil infrastructure and maintaining existing facilities within the campus. This encompasses all campus infrastructure including buildings in the academic area, residential hostels for students, staff accommodations. The office is also responsible for the development of general facilities such as roads, gardens, playgrounds, and associated utilities such as water and electricity supply.

The Dean IPS oversees estate-related matters, including the allocation of accommodation for staff and faculty, outsourcing of labour and conservancy services, space allocation, and recreational areas within the campus. Specifically, the following key units of the institute report to the Dean IPS:

  • Estate Office

  • Fire and Safety Section
  • Electrical Maintenance Division
  • Public Health Office
